GartenGarden

This stretch of the coastline is aptly named "Riviera dei Fiori". Our garden is also full of flowers at most times of the year.

The garden is arranged on different levels and the lower one, around the house, has an extensive terrace with an adjustable sun-shade and a large garden grill. This is where we spend much of our time from spring to late autumn, sitting in the shade, lying in the hammock and eating most of our meals.

The garden extends on different levels on the other side of the guest house. These terraces are kept as rough grass and offer quiet places to sit in the shade of the trees.

Our guests are welcome to help themselves to what is growing in the garden: lemons, oranges, figs, medlars, various herbs and vegetables.
The zucchini flowers are particularly delicious.

Some of our garden residents are worthy of special mention:
  • the swarms of glow worms flying in the early summer
  • tree frogs: one normally lives in the bougainvillea.
  • geckos on the walls
  • praying mantis
  • hawk moths (Acherontia atropos) which come in the summer twilight to drink the nectar of the flowers: as large as humming-birds

Here are a few tips to deal with the mosquitoes.
