Renovation

Early June.
Not all discoveries during the renovation come as an unpleasant shock. When the builders removed the living-room ceiling they revealed the wooden beams.
And these were in far better condition than expected...

... far too good to be simply covered up in the new ceiling.
The architect was called.
He came.
They discussed.
He photographed.

In Germany we get the phone call.
We hear the suggestion of leaving the beams visible.
We see the photos.
We are delighted with the new feature.
It is as if the house is becoming more beautiful each day.

Our delight is even greater to hear that the architect is extremely satisfied with the work of the building firm. Such praise is rarely heard on a building site.
