Coast

The coast around Imperia varies considerably: sometimes pebbles, as shown here between Oneglia and Diano Marina; sometimes sand, like the Spiaggia D'Oro in Porto Maurizio.

At the time of writing (2007) the railway line between Ventimiglia and Imperia is being moved away from the coast. The old railway will be turned into a coastal path for walkers, cyclists and skaters. West of San Lorenzo this has already been partly completed. The remaining stretches are due to be finished in the next one or two years.
