Local anglers fish from the many rocks along the coast. Their catch is mainly small fish which are destined for the soup pot.
There are shops in the harbours of Porto Maurizio and Oneglia which sell tackle and bait.

Since 2007 some of the small professional fishing-boats in Oneglia offer the possibility of joining them for a fishing trip.

And when you are at the harbour, you can also buy fish directly from the small boats. They sell on the quay as soon as they arrive in port.

Whale watching, departures from Porto Maurizio, is another exciting way to enjoy a day on the sea.
