Sailing

The Ligurian Riviera is a renowned sailing water.
The winds are particularly characteristic: in the morning the levante blows towards the east; in the afternoon it changes to the ponente and blows back towards the west.
In Porto Maurizio the Yacht Club Imperia offers sailing courses of various classes.

The Marina in Porto Maurizio, Imperia Mare, has been awarded the Blue Flag.

Surfing

Surfers have excellent access at several of the small beach bars east of Oneglia as well as the Spiaggia D'Oro in Porto Maurizio. Surfing, windsurfing and kitesurfing are all popular here.
